Spanish Battery
Saturday 8th July 2017, 9pm at the Pierhead Tavern, Lamlash
SPANISH BATTERY bring a very unique mix of “edgy” blues fused with rock, delivered with a style and passion of their own. Growling blues harp compliments one of the best guitarists in the North East, backed by a rhythm section that never holds back and a singer that sweats from the very first song! Their covers include songs from the Black Keys, Red Devils, Rolling Stones, Doctor Feelgood and Federal Charm, as well as rocked up blues classics from the likes of Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Howling Wolf and B.B. King. They also have a few original songs thrown in in the same style!! The 5 piece band was formed way back in 2007, and though they’ve had a couple of changes over the years, their attitude has remained the same right from the start… “Give it everything you’ve got, EVERY time!!” So, Spanish Battery, a band bringing a bit of Chicago to the North East and now to the Isle of Arran!! Move the chairs and look forward to a night on your feet!

The Sensational Alex Harvey Experience
Saturday 15th July 2017, 9pm at the Pierhead Tavern, Lamlash
The Idea came about when the band were asked to headline SAHBROCK VI in 2013 and to do a SAHB Tribute, and went down a storm. So much so, by popular demand, they decided to keep this project going as it was both fun to perform with all the theatrics and the songs, but also because the die-hard fans wanted to hear SAHB all over again. With months of hard work learning the material, and preparing for this gig, it would have been a shame to let it all go to waste as well, so the idea of keeping it going came alive. The band are now beginning to gain a grass root following of hardcore SAHB fan’s and more and are hoping to take the show to a whole new level with more ‘up market’ gigs and shows all over the country. They are highly recommended, and it has been said that the boys are one of the best live bands in the circuit.
